How do I create a Website QR code?

Click Create new, then Create a QR Code, and choose Website on the Type step. Type your address into Website URL, style the code on QR Design and click Download ✓. One scan opens the site on a phone, with no address to type and nothing to misspell. Because a dynamic code redirects through us, you can move the site or relaunch it later and the printed code keeps working.

Here is how to create a Website QR code. One scan opens your website on a phone. No address to type, nothing to misspell.
Use it on business cards, shop signage, the side of a van, or a brochure that should lead to the page answering the next question. Because the code is dynamic, you can move the site later and the printed code keeps working.
In the dashboard, click Create new, then Create a QR Code. Pick Website from the type grid and leave it on Dynamic. Give the code a name, then type the website URL. Choose a theme for the code itself, then Download. The code is saved and ready to print.
One field does the work. First, type your website address in full, starting with https. Second, name the code so you can find it in the dashboard. Third, if the site moves later, edit the link here instead of reprinting.

When to use a Website QR code
- Business cards and signage. Skip the long address; the card opens the site directly.
- Vans and vehicle wraps. A code on the door sends people to your site while it is on their mind.
- Brochures and invoices. Point paper at the page that answers the next question.
Steps in the dashboard
- Open the wizard. In the dashboard sidebar click Create new, then Create a QR Code.
- Pick the type. On the Type step choose Website — it is in the first fifteen tiles, so you will not need More. Leave the toggle on Dynamic unless you want a fixed code.
- Fill in the address. On the Content step type your homepage, or a deeper page, into Website URL. Start it with
https://. Add a QR Code Name so you can find the code in your dashboard later. - Style it. On the QR Design step pick one of the ten Themes, or set your own dots, colours, frame and logo. Keep strong contrast between Dots Color and Background.
- Save and download. Click Download ✓ to create the code. For the image file, open it from My QR Codes, click Download, and pick JPEG, PNG, SVG or PDF in the Save as... dialog.
After you download
The code is now in My QR Codes, where you can rename it, tag it, file it in a folder or copy its short URL.
- Change the content later. Click Edit on the code, change the fields, then click Update ✓. The printed pattern never changes, so nothing has to be reprinted.
- Scans are counted. A dynamic scan passes through us, so the code records device, operating system, browser, referrer and country. Click Full analytics to read them. Cities and the scan map come with the free trial and the Business plan.
- If the site moves. Change the address on the code instead of ordering a reprint. This is the whole reason to leave the toggle on Dynamic.
Common problems
The code will not save
The address field is required and validated. Enter the full address including https://, then click Next → again.
The site opens but looks wrong on a phone
The code opens whatever page you gave it. If that page is not mobile-friendly, point the code at a page that is — you can change it without touching the print.
You want the scan tagged in your analytics
On Pro and Business, click Edit parameters under the address field and fill in the UTM Parameters dialog. The parameters are added to the destination on every scan.
Frequently asked questions
Should I pick Website or URL?
Either works — the form is identical. The URL type additionally offers dynamic routing rules on Pro and Business, so pick URL if you may want those.
Can I make a Website code static?
Yes. Static codes need a paid plan, cannot be edited afterwards, and produce no scan data.
Does the printed code change if I edit the address?
No. The pattern encodes a short redirect URL, not your site address, so it never changes.
