How do I create an Images (photo gallery) QR code?

Updated September 14, 2026 · 2 min read

Click Create new, then Create a QR Code, and choose Images on the Type step. Add your photos under Upload Images, fill in Album / Gallery Title and a short Description, style the code and click Download ✓. Images is a dynamic-only type: scanners open a hosted gallery page with your title above the photos, and you can swap the photos later without reprinting.

Here is how to create an Images QR code. Scanners get a photo gallery, a title, and a link back to your site.

Use it on a restaurant table so people see the dishes before ordering, in a property window that opens every room, or on a gallery wall. Because the code is dynamic, you can swap the photos later and the printed code keeps working.

In the dashboard, click Create new, then Create a QR Code. Pick Images from the type grid and leave it on Dynamic. Give the code a name, upload your photos, then add a title, a short description and your website. Choose a theme, then Download. The code is saved and ready to print.

First, upload the photos. Add as many as the gallery needs. Second, give the gallery a title and a short description. They sit above the photos. Third, add your website. It becomes a link under the gallery.

Try it on the seven-day free trial. No credit card, five dynamic QR codes. Link in the description.

When to use an Images QR code

  • Restaurant tables and counters. Show the dishes before people order, without a printed photo menu.
  • Property windows. A card in the window opens every room; the listing stays tidy.
  • Galleries and events. Let people take the whole set home from one code on the wall.

Steps in the dashboard

  1. Open the wizard. In the dashboard sidebar click Create new, then Create a QR Code.
  2. Pick the type. On the Type step choose Images — it is in the first fifteen tiles, so you will not need More. Images is dynamic only, so the Static tab stays disabled.
  3. Upload the photos. On the Content step add files under Upload Images. At least one is required. Use View Type to choose how they are laid out — Grid, Masonry, Carousel or Stack.
  4. Describe the gallery. Under Page Details fill in Album / Gallery Title, an optional Description, and a Website if you want a link back under the photos.
  5. Style it. On the QR Design step pick one of the ten Themes, or set your own dots, colours, frame and logo. Keep strong contrast between Dots Color and Background.
  6. Save and download. Click Download ✓ to create the code. For the image file, open it from My QR Codes, click Download, and pick JPEG, PNG, SVG or PDF in the Save as... dialog.

After you download

The code is now in My QR Codes, where you can rename it, tag it, file it in a folder or copy its short URL.

  • Change the content later. Click Edit on the code, change the fields, then click Update ✓. The printed pattern never changes, so nothing has to be reprinted.
  • Scans are counted. A dynamic scan passes through us, so the code records device, operating system, browser, referrer and country. Click Full analytics to read them. Cities and the scan map come with the free trial and the Business plan.
  • Change the photos. Edit the code to add, remove or reorder images. The same printed code shows the new set.

Common problems

The wizard will not leave the Content step

At least one image is required. If the upload is still in progress you get "Please wait for the upload to finish".

A photo is rejected

Upload size is capped by plan: 5 MB per file on the free trial and Starter, 10 MB on Pro and 20 MB on Business. Resize the photo before uploading.

The gallery looks cramped on a phone

Switch View Type. Carousel and Stack suit tall photos; Grid and Masonry suit a large set of small ones.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos can I add?

Add as many as the gallery needs. Each individual file has to fit your plan upload limit.

Can an image QR code be static?

No. Images is dynamic only, because the gallery is a hosted page.

Do scanners need an app?

No. The gallery is a web page and opens in the phone camera browser.
