IMAGE QR CODE

Put a picture behind the scan

Upload an image, get a code. Scanning opens it full screen on the phone — and because the code is dynamic, you can swap the picture later without reprinting anything.

When an image beats a web page

Sometimes the thing you want someone to see is just a picture. A floor plan on a site board. A wiring diagram on a machine. A size chart on a garment tag. A before-and-after on a contractor's van.

Sending those to a web page means someone has to build and host the page. An image QR code skips that: upload the file, print the code, done.

The dynamic part matters more than it first appears. A machine's diagram gets revised, a menu photo goes out of date, a floor plan changes when a unit is sold. Swap the image and every printed code updates with it.

Getting the image right

The picture opens on a phone, so it is worth preparing for that rather than for a desktop monitor.

  • Portrait orientation usually reads better than landscape on a phone held normally.
  • Legible text at arm's length — if you would zoom in to read it, so will everyone else.
  • Compress before uploading. A 12MB camera original is slow on mobile data and no sharper on a phone screen.
  • High contrast survives being viewed outdoors in daylight, which is where a lot of printed codes get scanned.

Frequently Asked Questions

What image formats can I upload?

Common web image formats including PNG and JPG. For anything with text or fine line work, a PNG will usually stay sharper than a JPG at the same file size.

Can I change the image after printing the code?

Yes. The code points at a destination we control rather than embedding the picture itself, so you can replace the image at any time and every printed copy shows the new one.

Can I share more than one image?

For a set of pictures, a branded page works better than a single image code. It gives you a gallery, text and links on one screen instead of a lone photo.

Do people need an app to view it?

No. The image opens in the phone's browser straight from the camera scan.
