Print sizes, testing before a print run, and what to do when a code will not scan or a scanner sees an error page.
What size should I print my QR code?
Print at least 2 cm square for a phone held close. Further away, divide the scanning distance by 10. Always leave a clear margin around the pattern.
How do I put a QR code on business cards? Video
Create a dynamic vCard Plus code, export it as SVG or PDF, place it at least 2 cm square with clear space, and scan the printer's proof before the run.
How do I test a QR code before sending it to print?
Scan the exported file and then the printer's physical proof with at least two phones, check the destination on mobile, and check the margin and contrast.
Why won't my QR code scan on an iPhone?
Check that Settings → Camera → Scan QR Codes is on, then wait for the banner and tap it. If that is fine, check the code's size, contrast and margin.
Why won't my QR code scan on Android?
Check whether your camera app has a QR toggle, or use Google Lens instead. If other codes scan fine, check the printed size, contrast and margin on yours.
My camera sees the QR code but nothing happens: what should I check?
The camera is detecting a pattern it cannot decode. Check contrast, the margin, logo size and pattern density, then glare and printed size, in that order.
Why won't my vCard QR code save the contact on iPhone?
Tap Save Contact on the scan page and iOS opens the contact card — choose Create New Contact. If nothing happens, open the page in Safari and tap again.
Why does my WiFi QR code scan but not connect?
Only a static WiFi code makes a phone offer to join. A dynamic one opens a page with the network name and password to copy — and that page needs internet.
Why does my QR code show Unavailable, Expired or Not Yet Active?
The page title tells you which setting stopped the scan: archived, paused, scan limit reached, a date schedule, a lapsed plan, a password, or a safety block.
Why does my QR code say "Link Disabled for Safety"?
Its destination was flagged as phishing or malware by our URL safety screening, so the code stops redirecting. Email support with the link to have it reviewed.
Canva QR code not working or expired? How to fix it
Canva's built-in QR element is static: it never expires, but it can never be changed either. A code added through the QRCodeStack app in Canva stays editable.
