Here is how to create a Facebook QR code. One scan opens your page, ready to follow, with no name to search for.

Use it where people already like what you do. A market stall, a community notice board, or the flyer for your next event. Because the code is dynamic, you can change the page later and the printed code keeps working.

In the dashboard, click Create new, then Create a QR Code. Click More, pick Facebook and leave it on Dynamic. Give the code a name and paste the Facebook page URL. Choose a theme for the code itself, then Download. The code is saved and ready to print.

Three things matter. First, the page URL. Open the page in a browser and copy the address. Second, use the page link. Not a personal profile, and not a group. Third, test it. Scan the preview with your own phone before you print.

Try it on the seven-day free trial. No credit card, five dynamic QR codes. Link in the description.

When to use a Facebook QR code

  • Market stalls and food trucks. Shoppers follow the page for next week's dates while they are standing at the stall.
  • Community notice boards. The poster points to the page where the updates actually live.
  • Flyers and event tickets. Guests find the event page, the photos and the next date in one scan.

Facebook codes can be Dynamic or Static. Dynamic sends the scan through a short link we own, so you can repoint it and see the scan counts. Static writes the page URL into the pattern itself — faster to open, but fixed forever and invisible to analytics.

Steps in the dashboard

  1. Start the wizard. Click Create new, then Create a QR Code.
  2. Pick the type. On the Type step click More, choose Facebook ("Open a Facebook page") and leave the toggle on Dynamic.
  3. Name it. On the Content step type a QR Code Name such as "Market Facebook page".
  4. Facebook Page URL. Open the page in a browser and copy the address from the bar. It ends in the page name, for example https://facebook.com/riversidefarmersmarket.
  5. Use the page, not a profile. Public pages open for everyone. A personal profile or a private group may ask the scanner to log in or request access first.
  6. Design and download. Click Next →, choose a theme on the QR Design step, then Download ✓ and pick a format in Save as....

The Facebook QR code generator page runs the same wizard before you sign in.

After you download

A dynamic code redirects through us, so you can open it and click Edit to point it somewhere else — a new page, a specific event, or a campaign landing page — without touching the printed artwork.

Every scan of a dynamic code is recorded and shown under Full analytics: time, device, operating system, browser, referrer and country. Facebook's own insights count page visits; our numbers count the scans that sent people there, which is the only way to tell which poster is working.

Common problems

The scan opens the Facebook app's login screen

The destination is a profile or a private group rather than a public page. Swap it for the public page URL and test again with a phone that is not signed in.

The app opens the home feed, not the page

Some in-app browsers rewrite links. Test the code on both an iPhone and an Android phone; if it keeps happening, use the plain page URL with no query parameters after the name.

The code is not scanning from the poster

Check the printed size and contrast rather than the link. Minimum print size gives the size to use for each scanning distance.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the page after printing?

Yes, if the code is dynamic. Open it, click Edit, paste a new URL and save. The printed pattern keeps working. Static codes cannot be changed.

Can I point one code at several social networks?

Yes — use the Social Media type instead. It shows one page with a link for each network you fill in.

Do you show me followers or likes?

No. We record the scan — time, device, browser, country. Follower numbers stay in Facebook's own tools.

Does the code work if the visitor has no Facebook account?

A public page opens in the browser for logged-out visitors, though Facebook may show a sign-up prompt over it.
