Here is how to create a Telegram QR code. One scan opens a chat with you, with no username to type and nothing to save.

Use it on a help desk, on a receipt, on a poster for a community group, or on a delivery van. Because the code is dynamic, you can swap the chat or the group later and the printed code keeps working.

In the dashboard, click Create new, then Create a QR Code. Click More, pick Telegram from the type grid and leave it on Dynamic. Give the code a name, then paste your Telegram link. Choose a theme for the code itself, then Download. The code is saved and ready to print.

One field matters. First, paste the t dot me link for your user, channel, or group. Second, check it opens the right chat on a phone. Third, remember you can change the link later from the dashboard. The printed code stays the same.

Try it on the seven-day free trial. No credit card, five dynamic QR codes. Link in the description.

When to use a Telegram QR code

  • Support desks and receipts. A customer scans the receipt and the chat is open before they reach the door.
  • Community and group invites. Print the invite on a poster and let people join from the wall.
  • Delivery and field teams. Swap the chat or the group later and the printed code keeps working.

Telegram codes can be Dynamic or Static. Dynamic redirects through a short link we own, so the destination can change and every scan is counted. Static encodes the t.me link itself — unchangeable, and invisible to analytics.

Steps in the dashboard

  1. Start the wizard. Click Create new, then Create a QR Code.
  2. Pick the type. On the Type step click More, choose Telegram ("Open a Telegram chat") and leave the toggle on Dynamic.
  3. Name it. On the Content step type a QR Code Name such as "Support chat".
  4. Telegram URL. Paste a t.me link for a user, a channel or a group invite — for example https://t.me/yourusername.
  5. Chat or group. A user link opens a one-to-one chat. A group or channel invite link opens the join screen instead.
  6. Design and download. Click Next →, choose a theme on the QR Design step, then Download ✓ and pick a format in Save as....

After you download

Open the code and click Edit to change the chat — from a personal username to a support account, or from an old group to a new one — without reprinting anything.

Scans on dynamic codes are recorded with time, device, operating system, browser, referrer and country, and shown under Full analytics. The conversation itself happens entirely inside Telegram; we never see any messages.

Common problems

The link opens a browser page, not the app

The phone has no Telegram app installed, so t.me falls back to the web. That is expected; the page offers the app download and a web login.

The group invite says it has expired

Telegram invite links can be revoked or time-limited. Generate a fresh invite link, then edit the code and paste the new one — the printed pattern stays valid.

The wizard says "Please enter a valid URL"

Add the https:// prefix. A bare t.me/name is rejected by the field.

A public group invite on a poster is open to anyone who walks past. Use a channel or a moderated group if you do not want strangers posting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I link to a channel instead of a chat?

Yes. Any t.me link works — a user, a public channel, or a group invite. The scan opens whatever that link points at.

Can I change the destination after printing?

Yes on a dynamic code: open it, click Edit, paste a new link and save. Static codes cannot be changed.

Do I see who joined the group?

No. Telegram shows you the members. We record the scan only — time, device, browser and country.

Does the scanner need a Telegram account?

To chat or join, yes. Without one they land on the t.me web page, which offers the app.
