Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 13, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how QRCodeStack uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. Read this alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. We also use similar technologies like localStorage, sessionStorage, web beacons, and pixel tags — this policy covers all of them.
2. Our cookie categories
We group cookies into three categories. You control the analytics and marketing categories through our cookie banner; strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled because the service won't work without them.
2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| qr_token | QRCodeStack | Authentication / signed-in session | 8 hours |
| qrs_consent_v1 | QRCodeStack | Stores your cookie preferences (localStorage) | 12 months |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Bot protection, DDoS mitigation | 30 minutes – 1 year |
2.2 Analytics (opt-in)
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguish unique users for traffic analytics | 2 years |
| _clck, _clsk, CLID, MUID | Microsoft Clarity | Session replay and heatmaps | 1 day – 1 year |
| ph_*_posthog | PostHog | Product analytics & feature usage | 1 year |
2.3 Marketing (opt-in)
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw | Google Ads | Conversion measurement for Google Ads | 90 days |
| _fbp, _fbc | Meta Pixel | Facebook & Instagram ad measurement | 90 days |
| IDE, test_cookie | DoubleClick (Google) | Cross-site ad measurement | 1 year |
3. How to manage cookies
Through our banner: Use the cookie icon at the bottom-left of every page, or click "Open cookie settings" above. You can accept all, reject all, or pick categories individually.
Through your browser: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See instructions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
Global Privacy Control: If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA.
Do Not Track: Most browsers no longer offer a meaningful DNT signal. Where they do, we honor it.
4. What happens if you reject cookies?
Strictly necessary cookies will still be set so the service works. If you reject analytics and marketing cookies:
- You'll still be able to sign in, create QR codes, and see your scan analytics.
- We won't measure your visit for product improvement.
- You may see less relevant ads about QRCodeStack on other sites.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be flagged in the cookie banner.
