Can I download my QR code as SVG, PDF or another vector format?

Yes. Every QR code you create can be saved as SVG, and SVG is the one true vector file we produce — it scales to any size with clean edges, so the same code works on a sticker and on a billboard. Open the code, click Download, and choose SVG in the Save as... dialog. JPEG, PNG and PDF are offered in the same dialog, and all four formats are available on every paid plan and during the free trial.

Here is how to export a QR code as SVG or print-ready PDF. Vector files scale to any size without blur, so the same code works on a sticker and a banner.
PNG and JPEG are raster. They are made of pixels, fine on screens, blurry when a small one is enlarged. SVG and PDF are vector. They are shapes, so they scale to any size with clean edges. PNG for screens, SVG for designers, PDF for printers.
Create the code as usual. Pick URL, name it, paste the link, choose a theme, then Download. Now open it from My QR Codes and click the download icon. The Save as dialog offers JPEG, PNG, SVG and PDF.
For a raster file, pick the size. Choose the largest for print. JPEG adds a colour mode, RGB for screens or CMYK for a press. SVG needs no size at all.
For PDF, choose a page format from A4 up to A0. Then click Download. You can come back and export the same code in another format any time.
Before the run, three checks. Keep clear space around the code. Keep a dark pattern on a light background, and check it on the printer's proof, not on your screen. Then scan that proof with two phones before the full run.

Which file formats can I download?
The Save as... dialog offers four formats, each with its own options.

There is no EPS or AI export. Every design tool that asks for a vector file will open an SVG, and most will let you save it out as EPS or AI from there. For the difference between the raster and vector formats in plain terms, see PNG vs SVG QR codes.
How to download an SVG
- Open My QR Codes in the dashboard.
- Click the code's row menu and choose Download — or open the code and click Download on its page.
- In Save as..., click the SVG card.
- Click Download. The button reads Generating… for a second while the file is rendered, then it saves.
SVG has no File size picker, and that is not a bug. A vector file has no fixed resolution — the dialog says "Vector file — scales infinitely without quality loss" in place of the size list.
Which file should I send a printer?
Send the SVG whenever the printer or designer will place, resize or re-colour the artwork themselves. It stays sharp at any size, and if your code has a frame the frame is vector too — one file, one object, nothing to line up.
Send the PDF when you want a finished page rather than an asset to drop into a layout. The PDF is a complete A4-to-A0 page with your code's name above the code, so it prints as-is. Note that the code inside the PDF is placed as a high-resolution image, not as vector shapes — if a printer needs to blow the artwork up past the page size you chose, give them the SVG instead.
Send a JPEG only when the press has asked for CMYK, which we apply to JPEG and nothing else.
Common problems
I only see one PNG option
You are on the free plan. The dialog shows an amber notice — "You're on the free plan — downloads are limited to a low-quality PNG" — and a single PNG button. Any paid plan and the 7-day free trial unlock JPEG, SVG, PDF, higher resolutions and CMYK.
My SVG opens quite small in the browser
Browsers show an SVG at its suggested display size. Nothing has been lost — drop the same file into a design tool and scale it to any size you like.
My logo looks like a picture inside the SVG
It is. The QR pattern, the corners and the frame are all vector shapes, but a centre logo is embedded as an image so the file opens the same way everywhere. Replace it with your own vector artwork in your design tool if you need the logo itself to be editable.
I need a vector file for a laser cutter or embroidery
Use the SVG and set Margin in the wizard's QR Code Style section to at least 10 px before you export, so the quiet zone around the code survives the cut. There is more on this in error correction and pattern density.
Frequently asked questions
Do you provide EPS or AI files?
No. SVG is the vector format we export. Illustrator, Affinity, Inkscape, CorelDRAW and Canva all open SVG, and can save it out as EPS or AI if a printer insists on one of those.
Does the SVG include my frame and colours?
Yes. The file is rendered on our servers from your saved design, so the frame, colours, dot pattern and corners all come through — the frame as vector shapes in the same file.
Can I download the same code in more than one format?
Yes, as often as you like. Open the code again, choose a different format, and download. Nothing about the code changes.
Is the SVG a different QR code from the PNG?
No. Every format encodes the same link, so a printed SVG and a PNG on a screen behave identically when scanned.
Can I convert a QR code I made elsewhere into SVG here?
Not directly — we can only export codes that exist in your account. Recreate the code here with the same destination and you can export it in any format.

Can I download a QR code with a transparent background?
Yes, in PNG and SVG. Tick Transparent background in QR Code Style before you save the code. JPEG always flattens to white, and the PDF page is white.
