How do I create an app download QR code?

Click Create new, then Create a QR Code, and choose Apps on the Type step. Paste your iOS App Store URL and Google Play Store URL, style the code and click Download ✓. Apps is a dynamic-only type that reads which phone is scanning and sends it to the matching store listing, so one printed code replaces two store badges. Change either link later without reprinting.

Here is how to create an Apps QR code. One scan sends iOS and Android users to the right store for their phone.
Use it on product packaging, on posters and table tents in your shop or gym, and in print ads where two store badges take up space. Because the code is dynamic, you can change either store link later and the printed code keeps working.
In the dashboard, click Create new, then Create a QR Code. Pick Apps from the type grid and leave it on Dynamic. Give the code a name, then paste your iOS store URL and your Android store URL. Choose a theme, then Download. The code is saved and ready to print.
Two fields matter. First, the iOS store URL. Copy it from your listing page. Second, the Android store URL. Copy it the same way. When someone scans, the code reads which phone they have and opens the matching store.

When to use an app download QR code
- Product packaging. The box tells people to get the app; the code takes them to the right store without a search.
- Posters and table tents. In your shop, gym or venue, where people are already holding their phones.
- Print ads and flyers. Replace two store badges with one code that picks the store for them.
Steps in the dashboard
- Open the wizard. In the dashboard sidebar click Create new, then Create a QR Code.
- Pick the type. On the Type step choose Apps — it is in the first fifteen tiles, so you will not need More. Apps is dynamic only, so the Static tab stays disabled.
- Paste the store links. On the Content step fill in iOS App Store URL and Google Play Store URL, copied from your own listing pages. Huawei AppGallery URL (optional) is there if your app is listed on it. Any one of the three is enough to save the code.
- Name it. Fill in QR Code Name so the code is easy to find in your dashboard.
- Style it. On the QR Design step pick one of the ten Themes, or set your own dots, colours, frame and logo. Keep strong contrast between Dots Color and Background.
- Save and download. Click Download ✓ to create the code. For the image file, open it from My QR Codes, click Download, and pick JPEG, PNG, SVG or PDF in the Save as... dialog.
After you download
The code is now in My QR Codes, where you can rename it, tag it, file it in a folder or copy its short URL.
- Change the content later. Click Edit on the code, change the fields, then click Update ✓. The printed pattern never changes, so nothing has to be reprinted.
- Scans are counted. A dynamic scan passes through us, so the code records device, operating system, browser, referrer and country. Click Full analytics to read them. Cities and the scan map come with the free trial and the Business plan.
- Store link changed? Edit the code. Packaging already printed keeps sending people to the right listing.
Common problems
Everyone lands on the same store
The code routes on the scanning device. Fill in both store fields, then test with an iPhone and an Android phone — with only one link filled in, every phone gets that one.
The link opens a search instead of your app
Copy the address from your app's own listing page, not from a search result page.
You want campaign tracking on the scan
The Apps type is deliberately left out of the UTM builder, because app stores have their own campaign tracking. Use the store's own campaign link if you need it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need both store links?
No. One is enough to save the code, but then every phone goes to that one store.
How does it know which store to open?
The scan tells us what kind of phone made it, and the code redirects to the matching listing.
Can an Apps code be static?
No. Apps is dynamic only, because the device check happens on our side at scan time.
