What are the plan limits, and what counts against them?

Updated September 14, 2026 · 2 min read

Every plan caps how many active dynamic QR codes and short links you can have at one time. The 7-day free trial allows 5 dynamic codes, Starter 10, Pro 50 and Business 600. Static QR codes are unlimited on every paid plan and unavailable during the trial. Only live codes count: archiving a code frees its slot straight away, and scans are never capped on any plan.

What each plan costs

Prices are in US dollars. Annual billing works out about 20% cheaper than paying monthly.

PlanMonthlyYearly
Starter$9$86
Pro$19$182
Business$59$566

The 7-day trial needs no credit card. Full plan comparison on the pricing page.

Countries, cities and the map are included during the trial and on Business. Starter and Pro see device, browser, operating system and top countries, but no cities and no map — this is the single most common surprise when a trial ends.

What counts against your limit

The count is taken from your live codes at the moment you create a new one.

  • Archived codes do not count. Archiving stops a code redirecting and frees its slot immediately. Unarchiving needs a free slot — at the cap you get "You've reached the dynamic QR code limit for your plan".
  • Deleted codes do not count either, but deleting is permanent and takes the scan history with it. Archive unless you are certain.
  • Dynamic and static are counted separately, and short links have their own allowance.
  • Scans are never limited. A code on Starter can be scanned as many times as a code on Business.
  • Everything your team creates shares the plan's allowance — seats and code limits are separate things.

Where to see how much you have used

The dashboard home page has a Plan Usage card with separate meters for Dynamic, Static and Links. An Upgrade for more button appears on that card once you pass 80% of an allowance.

Your plan, status and renewal date are on Settings → Personal settings → Billing, in the Current Plan and Subscription Details cards.

If you subscribed before 8 August 2026

The dynamic caps changed on 8 August 2026: Starter went from 25 to 10 and Pro from 250 to 50. Anyone with an active subscription on that date keeps the older, larger cap for as long as they stay on the same plan.

Changing plan gives up the old cap. If you move from a grandfathered Starter to Pro, or to annual on a different tier, you land on the current limits and cannot go back.

Common problems

I deleted codes but still cannot create a new one

Check the All and Dynamic tabs on My QR Codes — only active codes count, so if the count still looks wrong you are probably at the static or short-link cap rather than the dynamic one. The Plan Usage meters on the dashboard home show which one is full.

I have more codes than my plan allows

That happens after a plan change. Your codes keep working until the date on the Over {plan} Limit card; see what happens when you are over your plan limit.

Static QR codes are blocked

Static codes need a paid plan — the trial allows none, because a static code cannot be switched off once it is printed.

Frequently asked questions

Do archived QR codes count against my limit?

No. Only active codes count, so archiving one frees a slot straight away. Unarchiving it again needs a free slot.

Is there a limit on how many times a code can be scanned?

No. No plan limits scans. You can set your own scan cap per code on Pro and Business if you want one.

Can I buy extra QR codes without changing plan?

No. The allowance comes with the plan, so the only way to get more is to move up a tier.

Do short links use up my QR code allowance?

No. Short links have a separate allowance: 25 on the trial, 100 on Starter, 1,000 on Pro and 5,000 on Business.

What happens to my codes if I stop paying?

They stop redirecting but nothing is deleted, and subscribing again brings the same codes back.
