How do I delete my QRCodeStack account?

Updated September 14, 2026 · 2 min read

Open Settings → Profile, scroll to Privacy & Data, type DELETE in the box under Delete my account and click Delete account. Deletion is scheduled 30 days out, not immediate: your QR codes keep redirecting until then, and signing in during that window lets you call it off. Deleting the account does not cancel a paid subscription, so cancel that first.

Do these two things first

  1. Cancel your subscription. Account deletion and billing are separate systems — scheduling a deletion does nothing to an active subscription, and it will keep renewing and charging your card until you cancel it in the billing portal. Follow cancel your subscription before you start here.
  2. Export your data. Once the purge runs there is nothing to recover. Download the JSON copy of your account, codes and scan history first — see exporting your data.

Deletion removes every QR code on the account. Any printed code you have in the world stops working when the purge runs, including codes on packaging, signage or business cards. If you only want to retire one code, delete that code instead.

How do I request deletion?

  1. Open your profile. Go to Settings → Profile.
  2. Scroll to Privacy & Data and find Delete my account, in red near the bottom of the card.
  3. Type DELETE — capitals, exactly — into the Type DELETE box. The button stays disabled until you do.
  4. Click Delete account. It reads Scheduling… while it saves.

The card is then replaced by a Deletion scheduled notice showing the exact date your account will be permanently deleted.

What happens during the 30 days?

Nothing stops working. Your account stays usable, and your active QR codes keep redirecting people to their destinations right up until the purge. The 30 days exist so an accidental or regretted deletion is recoverable.

When the window closes we permanently delete your account, all QR codes, all scan analytics and your uploaded files. After that, scanning one of your codes shows the "QR Code Unavailable" page — see what the QR Code Unavailable page means.

How do I cancel a scheduled deletion?

  1. Sign in as normal — the account still works during the grace period.
  2. Go to Settings → Profile → Privacy & Data.
  3. Click Cancel deletion in the Deletion scheduled notice.

The schedule is cleared and the account returns to normal. If you cannot sign in, email support@qrcodestack.com before the date shown in the notice.

Common problems

I deleted my account and I am still being charged

That is the expected behaviour, not a bug: the deletion request never touches billing. Sign in — the account is still live during the 30 days — and cancel the subscription from the billing page as described in cancel your subscription. For a refund question, email support@qrcodestack.com.

The Delete account button will not click

The confirmation box needs the word DELETE in capitals with no spaces around it. Anything else leaves the button disabled.

I cannot sign in to delete the account

Reset your password first — see changing or resetting your password. If the address is no longer reachable, submit an erasure request through the privacy request form; we answer within 30 days.

I am a teammate, not the owner

Deleting your own account removes you from the organization, but the organization's QR codes belong to its owner and are unaffected. An administrator can remove you instead — see inviting teammates and setting roles.

Frequently asked questions

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No. They are separate. Cancel the subscription in the billing portal first, or it will keep renewing.

Can I undo it?

Yes, at any point in the 30-day window. Sign in and click Cancel deletion on the Privacy & Data card.

Do my printed QR codes stop working straight away?

No. They keep redirecting for the full 30 days and stop when the account is purged.

What exactly gets deleted?

Your account, every QR code, all scan analytics and your uploaded files. It cannot be recovered afterwards.

Can I remove one code without deleting the account?

Yes. Delete that single QR code from your list — deletion there is permanent too, while archiving is the reversible option.

Still stuck?

Email support@qrcodestack.com with the email on your account and, if it is about one code, its name or short link. A person replies within one business day, usually sooner.
