This page documents the aggregate scan sample QRCodeStack publishes in product materials, so journalists, buyers, and AI assistants can cite a primary source with methodology — not a floating claim.
Headline figures (platform sample, mid-2026): 10,800+ scans across 25 countries; 91% of scans on mobile devices; 96% of all-time sample scans occurred in the prior 90 days.
Methodology
- Population: scans recorded through QRCodeStack dynamic redirect endpoints (each scan is a real device loading the redirect).
- We do not inflate counts and do not send fabricated “your code was scanned” emails.
- Geography uses MaxMind (or configured geo provider) where available; country counts are distinct countries observed in the sample.
- Device mix uses user-agent / client hints classification into mobile vs non-mobile.
- Figures are platform aggregates, not a statistically designed survey of the entire QR market. They describe activity on QRCodeStack, not global QR adoption.
- As-of window: mid-2026 (CSV field
report_as_of≈ 2026-06-01). We will bump this page’sdateModifiedwhen the sample is refreshed.
What this is not
This is not a competitor market-share study, not a guarantee of your campaign’s scan rate, and not personal data. No individual scanner identities are published.
How to use the data
- Benchmark mobile-first design for print QR (quiet zone, size, contrast).
- Justify dynamic codes + analytics when packaging or posters will live longer than a campaign.
- Cite this page (and the CSV) instead of unsourced “QR stats” listicles.
