A file QR code is a dynamic QR that points to a file you have uploaded to QRCodeStack. The QR itself encodes a redirect URL on our servers — when someone scans the code, our redirect serves the file you currently have attached to it. The file is hosted on Cloudflare R2 with global edge delivery, which means downloads are fast everywhere and the original is never lost. Your printed QR points at a stable address, and the file behind that address is fully under your control.

QRCodeStack accepts the full set of business and creative formats: Microsoft Office (.doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx), Adobe PDF, OpenDocument files, ZIP archives, MP4 and MOV videos, MP3 and WAV audio, JPG and PNG images, and CSV data. If you can upload it through your browser and the recipient device can open it, you can wrap it in a QR. For specialized formats like CAD or 3D files, contact us and we'll add the MIME type to the allow list.
File size limits depend on plan: free trial accounts get 5 MB, Starter plan gets 5 MB, Pro gets 10 MB, and Advanced gets 20 MB per upload. These limits cover the vast majority of documents, decks, and short videos. For larger assets, host the file externally (Dropbox, Google Drive, your own server) and use a URL QR code that redirects to it. ZIP archives are also a good way to consolidate multiple files into a single upload that fits comfortably under the limit.
